Currently, we are looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to help lead our culinary team and elevate our food offerings to new heights.

Position Overview

As the Sous Chef of the hotel, you will assist our head chef in leading the kitchen team to deliver high-quality, delicious meals that exceed our guests’ expectations. You will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity, culinary expertise, and leadership skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

– Work closely with our group head chef to lead and manage all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

– Assist in developing innovative and seasonally inspired menus that cater to the diverse tastes and preferences of our clientele.

– Ensure consistency and excellence in food quality, taste, and presentation, adhering to all relevant food safety and hygiene standards.

– Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize cost efficiency.

– Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and professional growth.

– Collaborate with the head chef and management to develop and implement strategies to enhance the dining experience and drive revenue growth.

– Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen workspace, adhering to sanitation and safety standards.

– Stay updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and best practices to continually improve and innovate our food offerings.

– Manage the 120-seat restaurant during multiple sittings while providing classic hotel staples to the hotel’s front bar.

Qualifications

– Proven experience in a high-volume hospitality environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.

– At least three continuous years’ experience as a sous chef or Chef de Partie, looking to progress in their culinary career.

– Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institution.

– Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

– Creativity and passion for food, with attention to detail and commitment to culinary excellence.

– Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

– Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, focusing on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

– Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

– Ability to manage multiple menus including but not limited to the restaurant, front bar, and snacks menu.
