Southern Cross Care Queensland have exciting opportunities for new Graduate Nurses or Registered Nurses to join the clinical teams at our Residential Aged Care Homes in Chinchilla and surrounding towns of Miles, Tara and Taroom in Queensland’s Western Downs region.

Chinchilla is located less than 2 hours’ drive West of Toowoomba or less than 4 hours’ drive west of Brisbane in the vibrant Western Downs Region of Queensland. It provides a hub to the surrounding towns including Miles, Tara or Taroom, which are only a short drive away and all offer opportunities for you to use and extend your nursing skills. The towns offer warm and friendly country hospitality. Picturesque Taroom is only a few hours drive away, offering easy access to amenities whilst providing a wonderful lifestyle for those who prefer more quiet country life. About the role

In this role you will join a team of highly skilled compassionate Registered Nurses in providing excellence in clinical care for our residents.  You will work under the leadership of an experienced Clinical Manager to deliver advanced clinical and holistic care to our residents. Providing support and supervision to your team members, you will champion a strong teamwork approach to resident’s care. You will liaise with medical practitioners, family and other multi-disciplinary team members ensuring excellence in personalised care. Most importantly, compassion and empathy accompany your clinical talent, alongside building relationships with our residents based on dignity and respect.

What you will bring to the role?

  • You will be a Registered Nurse with a current AHPRA Registration
  • You can be a newly graduated nursing student or new to the Aged Care industry – we welcome all applications, nationalities and experience levels
  • You will have a strong clinical focus with the ability to provide a high level of holistic support that best suits the individual
  • You are dedicated to caring for older people to live their best lives
  • You will work well within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding communication skills

Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago. They saw a need to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to some of the most vulnerable, the ageing population, in the community.

Since then, SCCQ has grown to employ over 1000 staff caring for and supporting more than 2000 people across 13 residential aged care homes, 5 retirement villages, 28 social houses, the National Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and home care services in metropolitan and rural Queensland.
