Job description: We are seeking for Mechanical Fitters in Qld and WA mining sites.

Job Summary:

As a hardworking skilled fitter, you will be required to fabricate, fit and assemble the structural components of various mechanical systems, will have the ability to repair malfunctioning mechanical systems, along with keeping accurate records of all maintenance work completed. You will be experience with preventative maintenance of plant and equipment with a focus on maintaining safety and maximizing production. Follow all Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself, crew members & the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on a variety of mining machinery and equipment, including crushers, conveyors, excavators, drills, pumps, and more.
• Component Installation: Install, align, and fit mechanical components such as bearings, gears, shafts, and couplings to ensure they work properly and efficiently.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical issues and malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
• Repair Work: Dismantle, repair, or replace faulty components and systems, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications and industry safety standards.
• Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment components when needed.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment, minimizing the risk of accidents or injuries.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, parts used, and equipment history.
• Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring they are properly calibrated and maintained.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience working in the mining and heavy earthmoving industry
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, especially in a mining or heavy industrial setting, is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, as well as expertise in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge and experience in welding and fabrication techniques are often required.
• Strong Safety Focus
• Strong work ethic

Essential:

• Relevant Trade qualifications – Certificate III
• C Drivers License
• Coal Board Medical
• Standard 11 SOA
