As the Preopening team of Hotel Morris, you are working with one of the most talented, dedicated, up & coming head chef (ex two-hatted venue).
MORRIS | Pitt Street, Haymarket
Housed in a striking Italian renaissance building with palatial Art Deco sentiments; MORRIS has found new life as an evocative bar and boutique 82-room hotel. The hotel will feature a chic ground-floor wine bar focusing on Australian and Italian wines.
MORRIS is all about doing simple things well. No complications! As a venue, rather than trying to shove circles into squares, we appreciate independence and irreverence, offering a team culture and guest experience that puts people first.
The day-to-night menu features signature bakery items and a mixture of wholesome and indulgent dishes. The menu plays with the idea of purity versus temptation. Think of a European wine bar screaming Melbourne vibes in a small boutique hotel in the heart of Sydney city.

We are looking for talented Cooks and Chefs of mixed bunch, cafes, hotels, and restaurants. We are looking for a friendly, team player with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and desire for success for themselves as well as their team members.
Sick of working nights? No need to! Breakfast and Lunch shifts are on offer! FT and PT roles are available to suit the right applicant.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent, high-quality, food production, in line with the standards of MORRIS
- Perform tasks within a timely manner
- Provide support to the Kitchen brigade
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
- Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety and food safety legislation
- Awareness of departmental targets and striving to achieve them as part of the team
- Meet all health and hygiene requirements
