BARROW is currently seeking a Qualified Chef to join the dynamic kitchen team. We pride ourselves on being creative and innovative and are looking for an individual who aspires to the same level of achievement and who can continue to grow our team and company for many years to come.
About the business & venue
BARROW is a newly rebranded kitchen & bar which encompasses a wholesome, homestyle selection of classic Australian dishes with a modern twist. Built around the ethos of fantastic food in a beautiful environment with welcoming & friendly customer service, this is a restaurant loved by locals and having huge potential. We are open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday and additional breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. We are located in Mount Nathan, QLD 4211 – only 10 minutes drive from Nerang, QLD 4211.

About the role
This role will require you to work five shifts per week.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of foods are of the standard quality within company guidelines at all times.
- Ensure that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
- Perform tasks within a timely manner
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contaminating
- Assist other team members wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
- Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues
- Comply with the venue standards, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation
About you
- Innovative, passionate & enthusiastic. Reliable and flexible attitude
- Trade qualification and at least 2 year experience in a similar role.
- All applicants are required to have full working rights to work in Australia, & sponsorship is possible for the right applicant.
- For visa sponsorship purpose: Equivalent of Australian Diploma plus 2 years work experience and/or at least 3 years relevant work experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
- Deliver high quality dishes, consistently well, in a fast-paced, busy environment.
- Work fast, clean and able to motivate the team through leading by example
- Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues
- Meet all health and hygiene requirements
- Demonstrated ability to maintain food safety standards and understanding of HACCP.
- Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles.
