We are looking for an experienced Fitter & Turner Machinist to work in our client in Chullora, NSW The Fitter & Turner Machinist will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of printing press machinery. This includes diagnosing and troubleshooting machinery issues, repairing and replacing parts, and performing routine maintenance tasks. The Fitter & Turner Machinist will also be responsible for ensuring that machinery is operating efficiently and safely
THE ROLE
- Diagnose and troubleshoot printing press machinery issues
- Repair and replace printing press machinery parts
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating machinery
- service and maintain webfed printing presses
- Provide customer technical support on spare parts identification and references as may be required
- Attend to customer technical issues and problems and address them proactively to ensure they are resolved
- Identify potential technical issues proactively and provide solutions for customers
- Be directly involved with day-to-day problems and be hands-on in approach to rectify them
- Escalate serious issues to Service Manager
- Provide maintenance services, coordinate resources (technical, design, spare parts) as required
- Support staff on technical issues, key customer support and provide liaison to key customers on all technical, service, and support issues
- Ensure that machinery is operating efficiently and safely
- Monitor machinery performance and make adjustments as needed
- Work collaboratively with other members of the maintenance team
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
- Continuously improve processes to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Is a specialist in servicing presses, especially Lithoman, Rotoman, Geoman & Uniset folders.
- Trade certificate in Fitting and Turning or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in webfed printing presses – preferably Lithoman and Rotoman
- Experienced in printing press commissioning
- Able to work unsupervised on webfed folders & print units
- able to troubleshoot on high performance webfed presses
- experience in sheetfed press service
- Exceptional in working with customer’s personnel
- Experience in the maintenance of high-volume, tight-delivery equipment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Able to work overtime if required
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication skills
