The Opportunity

Designed to world-class standards and adopting sustainability objectives in all parts of its operations, our Pulp and Paper Mill in Tumut produces high-quality Kraft Paper for both domestic and international markets – it is where the magic begins!

As a Chemical Recovery/Boiler and Digester operator based at our Visy Tumut paper mill, you are responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation and monitoring of plant and equipment within the Pulp Mill including; Digester, Fibreline, Recausticising, Lime kiln, chemical recovery, power /steam system and utilities within a closed-loop, integrated pulp and paper mill.

Your strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure along with your attitude where no job is too small, passion to learn new skills, and ability to lead by example, will fit right into the team.

Further to that your key responsibilities will be but not limited to:

• Conduct in-process inspection and checks using the DCS along with physical in-field inspections
• Identify and analyse process control maintenance requirements, and to automatically generate required work orders through DCS
• Ensure complex systems Continuous improvement plans and programs are feasible and are beneficial to the Mill
• Develop short to medium term plans and solutions to optimise paper production and ensure competitiveness in the market

What you will bring to the team

• Qualification within any of the following areas as a minimum; Pulp Making, Power Plant Operations, or Electrical Engineering
• Solid prior experience in a Pulp Mill, Refinery or similar complex high risk plant environment
• Boiler and Turbine ticket is highly advantageous
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can demonstrate your mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex production issues under pressure
• You have a safety-first mindset and comply with OHS&E policies and procedures at all times
