Groundhog Social is looking for experienced Chefs to join our team in Manly, Queensland. We are a popular, bustling cafe that is committed to providing our customers with high-quality food, made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. As one of our Chefs, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen and creating delicious and creative dishes that will leave our customers coming back for more. The kitchen is open from 7am – 2:15pm 7 days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and executing menu items, ensuring high-quality standards are met
• Prepare and cook meals, including breakfast, lunch and weekly specials
• Assist in the development and update of menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences
• Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Adhere to health and safety regulations
• Collaborate with management to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Chef or Cook, with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
• Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients
• Ability to create new, exciting dishes while adhering to dietary requirements and customer preferences
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification(s) preferred.
